Future of our environment

The dangers of overuse of fossil fuels are existent, but ignored. We choose productivity over longevity and monetary gain over progress. Though no other energy source can support our needs, we need to learn to live reasonably by polluting as little as possible. If we stay on the same track we are on for the next few decades, the effects, while much worse, will be completely irreversible. By the time our generation and the generations that follow pass on, it will only get much, much worse. We need to change, but we refuse to. Sadly, not much can be done with our current level of willingness to change. With big business in charge, and our demand for products, we will run this world into its grave. Our only hope is to try to start on a greener path and commit to it wholeheartedly. Hopefully in the future, we will be able to make this dream a reality, but not now. Definitely not now.

                                                Haiku to meet word count:

Dreams of a green earth/
Free of oil and our desires/
Pollution: Earth’s end/

I can’t think of any more right now, so remember kiddos: Pollution really sucks!
